Explore Latin: Trade, Travel, Textiles

The readers in the Explore Latin series are intended to introduce novice Latin learners to an array of ancient topics, using limited vocabulary and abundant textual supports. In about 100 unique Latin words, Explore Latin: Trade, Travel, Textiles provides a basic, foundational vocabulary centered around Roman commerce, clothing manufacture, and dress. This immersive exploration weaves together various cultural threads: the geography and varied climate of the Roman Empire; modes of transportation; commonly traded goods; stages of clothing production; and the relationship between clothing and social roles.
