John H. Starks, PhD

Biography: John H. Starks, Jr. is assistant professor of classical studies at Binghamton University, State University of New York. He received a BA in classics and mathematics from Washington and Lee University, an MA in classics and Latin, and PhD in classics with a historical emphasis from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He specializes in Greek and Roman comedy, Non-Western ethnicity in the classical world, Greek and Latin epigraphy, Roman historiography, and Latin rhetoric and oratory. Starks is the editor of Latin Laughs: A Production of Plautus' Poenulus (Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers, 1997).
