Catherine Keane is currently Associate Professor of Classics at Washington University in St. Louis, where she teaches a range of courses in Greek and Latin language, literature, and culture, including courses on satire and comedy. She is the author of Figuring Genre in Roman Satire (Oxford, 2006), and of numerous journal articles and book chapters on satire and related ancient literature. Her current book project focuses on the 2nd c. CE satirist Juvenal, and is provisionally titled Looking at the Satirist: Juvenalian Personae and Poetics. Professor Keane received her B.A. from Wesleyan University and her Ph.D. in Classics from the University of Pennsylvania. She has also taught at Reed College and Northwestern University, and has held research fellowships from the Mellon Foundation and the Loeb Classical Library Foundation. |
