Miles Becker

Miles Becker Miles Becker began his pursuit of world languages studying Russian at Reed College. He traveled widely and spent a year in Spain. Later, he developed a model outdoor education program for the Athenian School in Danville, California. He then earned BA and MA degrees in Spanish at the University of California at Berkeley. At Berkeley he earned the Cervantes Prize "for Excellence in Undergraduate Studies." His language background includes a fellowship at the UC Berkeley Language Center and intensive Arabic at the University of Texas. His teaching Spanish at UC Berkeley and at independent schools in the San Francisco Bay Area inspired the creation of eyeVocab. Becker conceived the vocabulary acquisition system and has chosen each of the "distinctive affective images."
