Bolchazy-Carducci Publishers, Inc.
1570 Baskin Road, Mundelein, IL 60060

We have published over 450 titles, 98% of these represent the ancient world: the majority of these are textbooks for high school and college use, about 25% are in scholarship.

In 2008, we introduced an innovative Latin curriculum, Latin for the New Millennium, whose eagerly-anticipated Level 1 and Level 2 materials have been adopted by scores of teachers and school districts. You’ve never seen a Latin curriculum like Latin for the New Millennium . . . for more details, take a look at the LNM website: lnm.bolchazy.com

Over the years we have focused 4 books on the Gilgamesh Epic because it's the genesis of our Western literature and mythology; 15 books on Vergil; and several books on each of the following: Cicero, Catullus, Horace, and Ovid. We have a complete set of school texts, grammars, ancillaries, and enrichment materials, both for Latin and Greek instruction, from basal to advanced levels. Our developmental team consists of three full-time classicists, one educational specialist, one generalist, four freelance editors with training in the classics, and at least twenty other freelance editors, writers, authors, and peer readers -- all either high-school or college/university teachers.

Besides textbooks and scholarship, we promote Latin and Greek pronunciation, time-tested aids that still appeal to today’s students, and Latin music on cassettes, CDs, and books. Over 3,000 Homeschoolers receive our biannual Latin newsletter and use our self-teaching Artes Latinae series; our E-Litterae online newsletter is a favorite among classics educators.

We have succeeded in the past 8 years in selling several hundred thousand copies of children's classics in Latin as part of our effort at "Responsible Popularization." The Wall Street Journal, The Chronicle of Higher Education, the Associated Press, and hundreds of other newspapers together with other media like radio and TV joined us in promoting Latin in the past eight years. These products in 2005 became available also through the popular Signals catalog.

It's been a felix culpa that the job market drove me in 1978 away from high school and college teaching to publishing in the field. What a fulfilling career! It's such a privilege and pleasure to work with so many of you. Thanks also for your patronage and expressions of kind feelings, appreciation and trust.

We strive to give our authors financial rewards, excellent product promotion, and publicity often with the help of a top-notch PR firm. Our books have been covered in The Wall Street Journal, The Chronicle of Higher Education and The Associated Press. We seek opportunities to help new authors reach the world of classrooms, chain bookstores and libraries because we want to be associated with their genius, creativity and their mission to ameliorate the human condition and because we find collaboration with them a good way toward self expression. Some of our activities can be viewed on www.bolchazy.com, http://www.gilgameshonline.com/, http://www.slovakculture.org/.

Let's continue working together toward a better future for ourselves and the world through the lessons of the past.
